Jess C and had been talking about uni (sea urchin) cream udon (うどん) since November last year and we’ve finally made the trip happen. We met up at SF Japantown with me running a bit late but getting to the restaurant just after the lunch rush was awesome. We got a table immediately!
As I have mentioned many times, I have a very obvious affinity for steak and prime rib. I think Lawry’s is really on any steak lover’s life long bucket list. The original Lawry’s store opened on La Cienaga Blvd in Beverly Hills, CA in 1938. Many years later, outlets in other cities and countries opened to accommodate the restaurant’s popularity allowing people from all over the world to taste history.
Cliché, I know.
The Lawrence Hall of Science holds an especially close place in my heart. The site of so much happiness, heartache, advice dispensing, and receiving new knowledge, it’s hard to not visit whenever I’m in town. Shout out to Brian P and Jacky T for accompanying me!
Probably my favorite view aside from the old Eastern span of the Bay Bridge. Also hard to take a photo without a tripod when it’s windy!
Throwback review to when I lived in California!
Barclay’s has a very good selection of beers on a rotating tap. They have about 20 different ones every 2-3 weeks . A good thing to do is join the beer tasting club! There are rewards once you hit a certain number of beers tasted. You can order a full pint, a half pint, or a shot to taste.
