So I’ve just been trying to find ways to keep motivating myself to keep up with my pseudo healthier lifestyle. Buzzfeed really helps with that, recipes, advice, and all.
My current lifestyle looks like the global economy if you compressed it from when we first started tracking the economy until the present.
Whew! I was very unsure about this race from the beginning. I put off signing up until the day before the first deadline and even then, I couldn’t decide which distance to run. I was scared of what happened to me in Singapore. I felt so tired and dehydrated from the whole thing that it took me a week to recover from a 10k. A WHOLE WEEK! AHHH! :<
I eventually decided on running 21k because no day like today? (Or yesterday in this case)

If you didn’t notice (and how could you not :<) this year’s blog posts have all been about running! I guess it came as a sort of secondary New Year’s resolution for me with my main one being losing weight! All of a sudden my priorities shifted and instead of losing weight being my goal, it morphed into a hybrid of running at least one 10k race a month and shedding the pounds. Actually, losing weight became a sort of prize along with the finisher medals (That’s right, Simon Sinek!) I decided onraces instead of regular 10k runs because waking up for them is one of the hardest parts! I didn’t want to mention this before for fear that I might not be able to hold up my end of the bargain early on.
Almost anything Star Wars is an A+ in my book (one exception being Jar Jar Binks)! I found out about this run right after we finished the Viper Challenge in February and I immediately signed up for it. The most difficult part was picking between the Light Side or Dark Side for runner entitlements!

This run felt absolutely shitty.
Allow me to explain: I had just come back from a trip that required a long haul flight and I was so scared that I wouldn’t wake up in time for my run because jetlag. I did wake up and got ready to go but on the way I encountered SO. MUCH. TRAFFIC. Welcome back to Manila, Micca. Parking was also a big issue because from the looks of it, there really wasn’t enough for everyone. I was so anxious about not getting there in time that I had a horrible tummy ache and had to use to bathroom. There went all the calories I took this morning 😬

Sooooo, I sneaked in a 10k during a weekend trip to Los Angeles because I could! Most of the run was done on Hollywood Blvd and we started at Dolby Theater and El Capitan Theater, where many movie premieres happen!

I attempted my first 16k run yesterday! It was a bit daunting because I actually had a 16k run (TV5 Superhero Run) scheduled 2 weeks earlier. And I didn’t wake up for it. Oops.
