I was pretty excited for this race. Not only was it one of the largest ones in the Philippines (~3000 participants!!) but the highlight was getting to run on the Skyway! Below is my race kit but I decided to ditch the sun sleeves last minute cause Heat N was starting at 440am! I highly doubted Mr Sun was gonna be there to annoy me. (Forgot to include my Jaybirds Bluebuds X but they were with me at the race!)
Fitbit data coming right up as usual!
GPS data:
HOW FUNNY I PACED 7’11”!

I legit stopped tracking when I passed the timing chip but the walk to the very very end was looooong (Source: miccadj Fitbit)
KM splits:
HR data:
My heart rate just starts high because I always start very very nervous before a run. Can’t help it ><
Calories burned:
To be honest, I got really tired early on. Like KM3 early on which was very unlike me as far as I know. I think it was because I only had 1 banana for breakfast and I was quite anxious at the beginning. KM5 was brutal as you can tell up there because I suddenly experienced some stomach pain that comes with drinking too much water! Oops. Walking it off really helped and I felt that I came back stronger after the turnaround. Eye of The Tiger started playing too so that was an extra boost of adrenaline!

On the Alabang Viaduct! My fave part! (Source: miccadj)
By the time I finished, Cathy C’s 5k heat hadn’t even started… We were hoping to finish around the same time but I guess giant events don’t always go as planned. I ended up checking out all the booths for freebies (lots of dairy products lol why) and caught the sunrise!
Everyone got a finisher medal! Woot! The 21k and 42k finishers got even bigger and well deserved medals! Those runners are amazing for even finishing!! #MiccaMatakawGoals
To Simon Sinek: Here’s my participation/finisher medal cause I’m as millennial as you can get and I earned it so BYE, FELICIA.
If there’s one thing I realized while running, it’s that no matter how tired I am, I’ll always want to finish strong and feel good about it. I definitely felt good after this run and took a 1 hour nap before lunch and a 4 hour nap after. And then I slept 7 more hours last night. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Big big big props to Cathy C for housing me the night before and also joining the race! Thanks so much, dear!
Cheers,
Micca
